A jugar se ha dicho January 10, 2010 Wilmer Gonzalez fantastico ahora mi entretenimiento sera mucho mas extenso ya que puedo distraerme jugando los mejores juegos de pecado existencial que Necesidad de ir a la calle.
Still going strong! December 12, 2009 D. Everts When it comes to reading a review for a GPU you have to take into account what it is paired with.
Your processor and your monitor being the biggest things to consider.
I have an E8400 Intel Core 2 duo and an LG 22 inch 1680x1050 monitor.
The reason the monitor's resolution matters is because the higher the resolution your running the more work the GPU has to do.
The reason the processor matters is it does a lot of the work itself as well.
Now, all that being said, with my components this card runs every game I have thrown at it on full settings. I have noticed that as of late, some of the newer games are starting to force me to come down from 16x AA a little. That being said, the games still run flawlessly.
I paid over 300 bucks for this card when I bought it new last year and at the price it is at now I couldn't recommend it more.
However, I don't believe the card would handle a 1080p monitor all that well. I am sure it would run it fine, I just don't think your going to get full settings without noticing some frame rate loss in games. But if your running 1680x1050 like I am, you will be very happy with this card. Like I said, everything runs on full settings save for AA in some games.
Not What I expected But Good September 28, 2009 R. Morris (Southern US) The 9x series cards were pretty much hyped, not really all that much faster than the 8x series.
I went from two 8800GT's to two of these, slapped water blocks on them, and was disappointed when I couldn't really play Crysis any higher then I could on my 8800GT's. I thought I could hit Very High but it didn't happen. Even my 3dmark scores went down? Wasn't too happy.
I decided to build a 24/7 Folding@Home server with these 9800gtx's, slapped Arctic air coolers (3x 80mm fans) on them; and they do pretty well..about 8500k PPD each.
Good outdated product January 24, 2009 Brett A. Haberle (Va, USA) This product was great... but it showed little improvement from my prior card, the 8800gt.
Great card, good value December 17, 2008 C. Parker (Seattle, WA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this card to upgrade the lame video card that came standard on my computer, and am very happy. I always used ATI video hardware in the past but became disappointed with the quality and driver availability. My experience with this Nvidia card is awesome. They provide regular (monthly) and quality driver updates, and the card runs awesome. I've run Crysis (and warhead) at the highest settings (no AA) and it works great - a couple of minor studders but very playable. Overall very pleased with this purchase. My only complaint is that the "HDTV" support is overstated. It comes with a pathetic component cable adapter, which cant support 1080p. If you are using this card with a high end TV or projector you will need to buy a better cable. I actually use a plain old VGA cable which is crystal clear and looks great on the screen.
