I am no audiophile, but I can tell these speakers are the best I've ever had. They work great for casual listening and for blasting at parties.

I wasn't expecting the results of a $1000 unit and I wasn't disappointed. The only issue I have with the unit is that it connects via the headphone jack of my PC rather than the stereo speaker jacks.

I purchased the Z523s as replacements for my aging Bose speakers. I was VERY disappointed by the sound quality: Bass is loud enough (but undefined), and the mids are just plain muddy. I was expecting more from Logitech based on my past experience with the brand, but audio is definitely NOT their forte. I'll search out a good equalizer box just to salvage these.

The Logitech Z523 is an incredible set of speakers for listening to music. I'm using them with a Dell desktop computer, and the bass is well supported with an excellent overall balance. These speakers also have a unique 360 degree sound feature, which is simply because the desktop speakers are two-sided, putting out sound to the front and back. So it doesn't matter which way they're turned, the sound doesn't get muffled. They're not too cheap, but not too expensive, either, so they're a good value for the money. If you're willing to spend a few bucks to get a set of speakers that's guaranteed to sound great, go for the Logitech Z523.

I absolutely love these and would recommend these to anyone. The sound quality is great even when you are playing music loud. Controls are very easy to use and they are the perfect size to fit next to my monitor!
